Lilja the Label is a responsible swimwear brand based in Finland, operating since 2016. The brand's goal is to produce high-quality, ethical, and year-round available swimwear. Sustainability has been the cornerstone of the brand from the beginning, so all products are made from environmentally friendly and natural recycled materials.

As an international swimwear brand, Lilja needed a sustainable and evolving e-commerce solution instead of the old WooCommerce platform. They hoped for a solution that would enable growth and development with the entire staff.

Platform Migration to Support Growth

The brand's previous online store no longer met the requirements of current business operations after several years. Observations of declining performance and concerns about the durability of the old platform prompted the decision to migrate data to the Shopify platform. The expectation was that the Shopify platform would solve everyday issues related to site development and enable new e-commerce functionalities. The customer chose the visual, functional, and efficient Taiga theme to create a visually informative and easily developable online store.

Growth from International Markets

An internationally expanding swimwear brand needed the right scaling tools for an increasingly global business. With the limited nature of the Finnish summer alone, there is a need for more new markets and customers from a growth perspective. Using Shopify Markets and Shopify Payments, a multi-market store was built within one platform, allowing the provision of more market-specific shopping experiences to customers more profitably and monitoring market-specific growth more closely.

In the previous solution, the physical store and the online store did not communicate with each other, resulting in the loss of a significant amount of customer data from physical store customers in terms of growth. With Shopify's e-commerce platform and Shopify POS point-of-sale system, product, customer, and order data are manageable in real-time. With Shopify's multichannel solution, the plan is to segment customers more effectively in the future, providing more personalized shopping experiences.
