Heirol is a Finnish manufacturer and retailer of kitchen supplies, known for its high-quality products and innovative kitchen solutions. The company has been operating successfully for decades in the Nordic countries with strong B2B sales. Expanding consumer and multi-channel business offers tremendous potential, which could not be addressed with existing tools. However, the solution was found – Shopify.

Initially, Heirol's online store operated on the WooCommerce platform, which proved to be slow, difficult to develop, and unreliable in terms of operations. There were numerous different systems, making the overall management complex and inefficient. Our project's goal was to simplify the system architecture and streamline digital business, making data management simpler, costs more efficient, and facilitating store growth and development.

System architecture and simplification

With Shopify, Heirol was able to significantly simplify its system architecture. The most significant changes occurred in brick-and-mortar stores and product management. The Winpos cash register systems in the brick-and-mortar stores were replaced with the Shopify POS system, and Shopify's own product management replaced the old PIM and image management systems. Thus, the key functions of consumer business were centralized into one system, improving overall management and reducing technical issues.

Additionally, the personalized customer experience created with Shopify helped develop a fast and reliable online store where customers enjoy a smooth and pleasant shopping experience supported by visual and easily maintainable elements.

Omnichannel business at its best

Shopify enabled seamless multi-channel business for Heirol. The Shopify POS system was implemented in the brick-and-mortar stores in Turku and Helsinki, making sales processes smooth and efficient. With Shopify and Shopify POS integrations, customers can now shop easily both online and in-store, with their purchase history and customer information kept up-to-date across all channels. In addition, real-time updated product, customer, and order information is at the fingertips of the sales staff, aiding in better customer service.

We rebuilt a loyalty program for Heirol's customers around Shopify using Yotpo, and key automations were built in Klaviyo to streamline sales and customer communications.
